Your life has meaning and value. Even if you feel like the cards are stacked against you, do not be discouraged. The greatest people in God’s sight are often the ones that go through the hardest times. Jesus called John the Baptist the greatest man to ever live and his life was marked with difficulty. His ministry was miniscule. His life was one of poverty. And he was murdered for standing up for righteousness when he was barely 30 years old.
Worldly success is not the measure of meaning and purpose. And worldly success is not the evidence that God loves you. The measure of meaning and purpose is found as you abide in the vine of Christ. Whether you are rich or poor, healthy or sick, I pray that you find your fullness in Christ. I pray that he gives you the strength to draw near to him. As you abide in Christ you will realize your value to God and find life’s meaning and purpose.
Finding your contentment in Christ is the secret to joy and fullness. If you are feeling down right now, try to fight through the negative thoughts and get alone with God. Open his word and open your heart to what he is saying to you. You have all you need in Christ. There is no other relationship that will fulfill you like your relationship with God. Keep your heart fixed on him and find your joy and meaning and purpose in your walk with him. God is so personal. The more diligent you are to get alone with him and open his word, the more involved you will realize he is in your life and the more joy you will experience.
Enjoy your walk with him and don’t be discouraged because of worldly things. Set your minds on things above and worship him. The meaning of life is not to end up with the most money and toys. The meaning of life is to glorify God and enjoy him forever. Be filled with the Spirit and be refreshed with by the waters of the Holy Spirit.
